“The officer reportedly submitted the output from ChatGPT as the report, despite the fact that it was provided with extremely limited information and likely filled in the rest with assumptions.“ They are good for making up bull crap, aka hallucinating.

Wait another 10 years and Peter Thiel and Palantir do not just the reports but also the policies and enforce them preemptively like in Minority Report. They’re already lobbying for that with governments all around the world. I’d say that is an even worse “worst case scenario” and they’re already working on it. Another future is AI decision-making. Like the systems the IDF used to calculate how much collateral murder is acceptable per terrorist.

Has the IDF killed any terrorists at all, lately? I can’t remember the last time it was in the news that the IDF killed an actual terrorist, bit it was a while ago. That that last time was news worthy says a lot too, by the way.

Yeah, I used past tense because I’m not sure either. I can’t contuniously follow those kinds of news, It makes me really miserable and me reading the news doesn’t change much. I listened to some podcasts this summer about the weapons industry, the dystopian reality of some places being the testground for new weapon systems and what the IDF is likely doing behind the scenes.
