  • From the article:

Satya Nadella is burning decades of customer good will chasing the latest tech fad.

I’d disagree with hat sentiment. I’d put it as Microsoft is finally giving people the final push they needed to break the Microsoft chain they had around their ankles.

Nobody uses Microsoft products because they’re the best, they never were, they never will be. Microsoft is the VHS of the video tapes, it is as big as it is due to deception, marketing, and force. L

Let this be the obligatory “install Linux already” post, but I’m saying it as “switch everything away from US vendors to open source” as they all have turned evil and corrupt. Open source software is the only software left that can still give users what they need in a fair way.

Install Linux, setup some nextcloud instance, break that fucking Microsoft chain

  • Yet everyone uses it.

It because it’s great, it’s the absofuckinglutely worst of the worst, but they got key players to use it, the rest is forced into it with their closed off ecosystem.

There is a reason why Microsoft web products work so much worse oninix than they do on windows, and it’s exactly what you think: sabotage. Word drops half of the text you type? Must be a Firefox issue, no? Yeah no, change the user agent to say you’re edge on windows and all of the sudden it works. Still shittily, but it works as shittily as it does on windows.

When you feel the need to sabotage your already badly working products just to force your customers to stay with you, it really does show that you’re just full of shit

    Fuck Microsoft

  • The other interesting tidbit from this:

Things get dire when US carmakers enter the fray. All but one of the bottom ten brands in the list are American. The best of the worst was Chevrolet at a score of 40. But Tesla makes that failing grade seem respectable with its absolute rock bottom rating of 31, trailing Jeep by just one point.

That is because everything American has been shit since forever with all the lack rules and regulations, but in the last decade, things really have gone off a cliff

This right here is the reason why piracy is as big and healthy as ever.

It’s not about the money. Hell, we’re spending thousands now whereas before it was at most a few hundreds per year. But now we can watch whatever we want without bullshit, without advertising

It’s not about the ease of use. We now spent countless hours on building a libraries with everything we’d like to watch which I know will always be there

It’s not about wanting to be “a criminal” or not caring about artists. Most artists get shit from Spotify, for example. We’d rather pay a few hundred per year to some foundation that will pay artists a fair share

It’s about not wanting to deal with these huge anti social power monger companies and their shitty policies anymore.

You can’t watch this, we won’t allow it.

You can’t watch that, you live in a country where it’s bad for our profits if we allow you to watch that.

You can’t watch this one because it’s better for our profits that we dropped this so you now need to pay double for some other provider because we decided so.

We need to monitor your every move and excuuuusee me siiiirrr, i need to inspect ya aaasshole now… Please also give me all your personal information, minus the “please” because we’ll just take it

You know, we’re so big now, and you have so little options, we’ll make you eat h add anyway even though you pay us

    Fuuuuuuckkkk all of that.
