Reminds of this one from a while back:

It’s okay to have fun on Lemmy, Christ, this is legit funny.
Who?
Some hateful idiot who’s addicted to cosmetic surgery and says men should want to look as manly as possible
deleted by creator
It wasn’t “someone” but the very great video essayist Alexander Avila, who himself is ftm. He made an excellent case and it’s quite the fun watch: https://youtu.be/uox4OMC50-4
Don’t you know? Click bait headlines have to say “someone”
Doesn’t matter who said it. Black people say shit about other black people all the time that would be taken down in an instant, because it’s not alright.
You don’t get a magic pass to insult all trans people because you heard a trans person do it.
-
Clavicular isn’t actually trans. He’s a mentally ill conservative grifter, and calling him a “Male to Male Transsexual” is a philosophical point more than anything.
-
I have you tagged as “JK Rowling Bootlicker” so I have a feeling you’re not exactly acting in the best faith here.
The entire point is that mocking someone for “looking trans” is wrong regardless. Perhaps you should spend less energy trying to find what in your mind you see as justification to hate others and spend more worried about how to not do that.
The entire point is that mocking someone for “looking trans” is wrong regardless.
I agree, but I don’t see anyone doing this. Not the person you responded to, nor the meme in this post.
Sure, it’s a post celebrating him for his bravery and cheering him on.
-
In my experience strong allyship comes from people who do not speak loudly on other people’s behalf, but mostly listen

Actually I have a magic pass to insult whoever the hell I want
Having a lot of anger inside because of a very small penis or some other personal problem doesn’t actually give you a pass to insult others. Trust me, I know it hurts, but it’s not okay to take that hurt out on others.
I already blocked you. The comments are just so that others can make fun of you
He asks the question whether or not looksmaxing is gender affirming care and compares the two in a scientific and well-researched manner. Is research and philosophy “not alright”?
This meme is not research. Technically you could consider virtually all plastic surgery to be gender affirming care. Does that make things like this alright? No. Of course it doesn’t.
I’m tired of seeing people talk about the worst people all day long. I see people I really don’t give a fuck about all damn day long, and upon learning even a little bit about them, wonder why the fuck anybody even cares to keep bringing them up. Even the jokes are a hate ritual.
He doesn’t matter. He never mattered. Whatever he does with his life is none of my business and I really don’t give a fuck what happens to him. So why do I have to see him against my will on a regular basis?
Thank you. I don’t give a shit about this weirdo and nobody I know even knows who he is. I’m here because I’m trying to get away from tabloids and TV and media that talk about irrelevant nonsense.
In a society where everyday, people are trampled on by a corporate first policy… they feel a need to try and strike back. So they do. Sadly it actually gives many of these horrible people joy to be mentioned at all. And it actually enables them.
He doesn’t get enough hate because the majority of people who aren’t terminally online have no idea who he is. People like him feed on hate so it’s best to just bury him.
I am.pretty terminally onlime but I have no idea who this is.
you being terminally “onlime” doesn’t make you part of the terminally online group. You just sit on limes.
You just sit on limes.
Sit-truss.
Limes are often a little too big. I’m more of a clementine, myself.
As the song goes, “I’m so much cooler on limes.”
Good, he is but one of 100.000 grifters anyway.
6 feet under, just to make sure, right?
why hate on someone when they mostly aren’t hurting anyone but themselves?
This guy encourages impressionable young men to smash their faces with hammers to sculpt their bones.
if some people chose to hit their heads with hammers because an influencer told them to they were already a lost cause.
No, everyone was stupid about something at some point in their life, if you were not then good but guys my age fall for looksmaxxing because they’re alone, desparate and watching rich people get girls and what not.
did they learn from their mistakes?
Spewing misogyny online hurts all women
It hurts men too by feeding into the whole divide and conquer game.
The kinds of men who are indoctrinated by the manosphere will have a much harder time realizing that women are just fellow humans.
They are hurting other people by teaching young boys that they can treat women like objects.
Isn’t this the guy saying something like “we’re trying to make Israel look good”.
I’d argue trying to rehabilitate the image of a genocidal state harms many people.
Ooh yeah. He just visit Israel to promote how normal of a country it is. I’m the middle of a fucking genocide.
“Gender affirming care” means gender affirming for everyone. The same people who hate on trans people getting it are the ones who constantly get breast enlargments, fat reductions, plastic surgery, etc. When they call gender affirming care unnatural and ban it, that magically always only applies to trans and poor people
Never forget to point out the most common* form of gender affirming care is chest/breast reduction for men/young boys.
*maybe a factoid, but I’ve seen it in several places I wouldn’t expect a falsehood to hold up
I’d never heard of this person before, except last night at a party someone mentioned them. No one else had heard of him. I’m okay not knowing who online people are.
he is bankrolled by thiel, to offer up a new manosphere grifter. (Tate, J peterson, roegan) isnt enough.
Wouldn’t be surprised at the least, but do you have a source for this?
I pray this reaches you so I’m not the only old person burdened with this knowledge. I’m sorry, it’s the only way to rid myself of the curse.
Clavicular is an online “looks maxer” who preaches that the only thing that matters in life is your physical appearance, which should be improved at all cost. He suggests methods such as “bone smashing”, methamphetamine, and plastic surgery to achieve a facial structure that is as close as possible to some arbitrary ratios that they consider to be ideal. He is extremely famous with the youth, some of whom have followed in his footsteps to disastrous effect.
He also ran a man over with a car, pulled a gun on someone who came to his door, and injected erection medication into his dick with Adam22 (as bro’s do).
Now you know. I’m sorry. Pass it on to someone else as quick as you can, or else Clavicular will start chasing you! /s
If you say clavicular three times in a bathroom mirror, he’ll appear and chase you with a hammer to even our your cheek bones
This is the internet equivalent of showing someone a haunted VHS tape.
SEVEN DAYS!
Okay, wow, thanks for the summary. How the hell do these folks get popular in the first place?
for clav, he suddenly started blanketing social media no thanks tho Peter thiel, who seems to pushing him as the new “gen-z manosphere dude”, thiel likely is also into him too(his last BF was defenestrated in 24)
Yeah, this will be a generational divide I have no problem crossing. If someone names a person to me and they have only one name and it sounds stupid, I’ll just assume they’re an online personality and that I don’t care who they are.
And one step further, it’s just staggering to me that these people who are YouTube/tiktok/Instagram famous are considered by younger generations in the same way a millennial like myself would consider actors, people who actually did stuff, versus people who got popular doing shitty pranks or stealing other “content creators’” works and slapping a watermark on it.
Millennials had our share of people that were famous just for being famous. Paris Hilton anyone? We’ve always had influencers, people famous for no particular accomplishments or creative works. I actually prefer the modern version. The past versions were mostly folks from very wealthy backgrounds who came into the limelight due to family connections. If you’re already around a bunch of celebrities and media types because your family is incredibly wealthy, it’s easy for someone to translate that access into fame of their own.
In contrast, at least modern influencers have a decent shot at being from humble backgrounds. They’re still vapid and famous just for being famous, but at least they had to hustle to earn any amount of fame in the first place.
To be fair to Paris Hilton, she has managed to close down a company through litigation, whose business is to instill “tough love” on delinquent children in a boot camp but only caused trauma. I wasn’t quite expecting that from her.
It is a generational divide to not consider streaming as “doing stuff,” but that’s a divide I’m ok crossing.
Yeah the hate is weird. I’m not the biggest stream watcher, but I can respect the medium. Streamers are just doing the modern version of what AM talk radio personalities like Rush Limbaugh did. Not in terms of content or politics, but in terms of format. Limbaugh ran multi-hour long shows reacting to news and headlines. His listeners primarily listened passively, letting the radio run in the background of daily life. He would take calls and engage with his audience directly. Streaming is just modern talk radio.
Was that supposed to entertain the idea that I should regard streamers with the same respect I would Rush Limbaugh?
If so, mission accomplished.
He would take calls and engage with his audience directly.
Lol very rarely did he do this. His show (which I unfortunately had to listen to a lot because of various right-wing bosses I worked for) was 99% just him talking and talking and talking. Taking calls led to the very slight possibility of his having to argue against people who disagreed with him, something he was terrible at. On his TV show, in fact, he once famously had the entire audience cleared out because a small number of people had shown up to heckle him.
A single caller turned me away from Rush and got me started thinking about the content I was consuming.
Dude calls in to say he looked into getting a wind turbine and the math didn’t work out. When he brought up the cost to hook it to the grid, Limbaugh was laughing his ass off.
“Wait! Wait! It requires POWER to run! HAR HAR HAR!”
The man tried to explain that the connection would pay him when he generated more than he used. Limbaugh was an intelligent man, he knew where the conversation was going and kept cutting off the man’s explanation.
Despite the caller’s math as to why wind wouldn’t work for him, Limbaugh wouldn’t allow the man to make one positive point. That turned me off so hard I started seeking other viewpoints. 15-years later and I’m into Fully Automated Luxury Communism.
Enjoy my screenshot from the day that vile man died:
That’s hilarious
To a certain extent, a lot of streamers do a lot more stuff than actors.
Actors book a job, so some acting, maybe do a promo tour for their movie, that’s it.
Most “influencers” or streamers at least start out doing everything themselves. They need to understand the streaming tech, know how to configure OBS studio, how to edit video, understand the camera, the lighting, if they’re using make up they’re doing it themselves, they need to know how to do their own marketing, etc. And, if they’re live-streaming they need to develop the skill of interacting with their audience while they’re doing something else. Without that parasocial relationship with the audience, they don’t get big, so they need to stay on top of what their chat is saying. Sometimes that’s on top of doing something else like playing a demanding video game.
So, I think streamers / influencers are often doing a more impressive job than actors. For many streamers / influencers I’m much less interested in them. I often have less respect for the way they make money, since it’s so vapid and consumerist. On the other hand, I do admit that it can be a lot of work to master all those domains.
And the consistency required, especially for steaming.
Disappear for a month and lose 30% of your audience, it’s brutal
Yeah, that’s another part of it. Plus the magic of trying to reverse engineer the recommendation algorithms to know what it is that will get your video in front of people.
Yeah… if you can doge the looks-maxing thing entirely, you’re way better off. In the end it’s just warped young people doing weird things so a computer algorithm will give them money.
This seems a bit backwards. The minute we decide we don’t like someone we feel justified in using gendered or racial slurs against them. Malania Trump, KLAN, any woman whose actions seem against what we deem to be acceptable, even if we know they’re very likely sex trafficking victims, doesn’t just get called a bad person, they get called bitches and whores and the like. Clarence Thomas gets called the house negro.
Now we’re going to start in on making fun of the looks of trans people because of this asshole?
Why do so many people seem so eager to use terms and make fun of things we don’t find socially acceptable to make fun of the minute a person crosses the line? Not liking a person doesn’t make insulting them for those specific things any better.
I’m really curious about the thought process behind all the up votes. I hope it’s not “He do look trans, how goofy har har.”
I think you are getting the wrong picture by people calling him mtm. It’s not because he’s a shitty person, it’s more about the fact he will stop at nothing to achieve “maximum masculinity” by getting jaw and face surgery to get a stronger jawline, to take testosterone from the age of 14 and to be an absolute misogynist to any woman he interacts with.
The post is literally saying he looks trans. It’s a person most people can’t stand, so somehow people think it’s ok to use looking trans as an insult to mock him.
This post is literally about how he looks like a completely different person, almost like he transitioned. You’re reading comprehension is terrible.
Are you trying to argue Clarence Thomas isn’t a House Nigga? Good look with that shit my man, good luck. Call me and tell me how it went.
Actually don’t call me ever again.
Using the actual shit people say when they feel it would be socially justified to attack black folk in general would get me banned. That’s part of the point. It’s shit everyone agrees is awful and racist to use as insults and then turns around and uses on anyone they disagree with anyway.
The “no bad tactics, only bad targets” mentality on display is always gross to see.
There are many reasons to dislike clavicular, but focus on the harms he causes rather than taking lazy shots about his looks, especially if there are trans people down range.
We need to call things out more
It’s just a different focal length

Gonna try that as a pickup line
“Yo gurl, wanna see my 200mm?”
This. Aside from the lips and eyebrows, it’s the only real difference.
Y’know I see it. All love to my trans homies, but fuck man, I see it.
Yup. Definitely looks trans in the second one
thiel does have a type, young hot male models that he can suck the youth(blood) out of including thier souls, i think thiel is a better soul stealer than the lich mcconnel .
I believe i remember that he’s actually pro trans, or peoples’ right to transition, but it comes from his negative views on beauty and body image. He’s like a “everyone unattractive should get surgery and if you’re really unattractive get sex surgery.” I think that’s harmful, and just dumb.
That’s the stupidest shit (what clav said about transition being beauty care).
Nobody can see that you’ve had bottom surgery when your clothes are on, if you want to wear something revealing you can tuck or pack.
Clavicular, Andrew Tate, Nick Fuentes etc are self-loathing gay dudes.
clav is pretty obvious, since thiel created his persona to push a manosphere grifter into the limelight. plus thiel likely also take some of clavicular blood from time to time to.
Saying that someone “looks trans” is big oof.
Doesn’t mean it’s not a thing
Cis women who are not “traditionally feminine” are often the ones who are on the other side of the “looks trans” comments, meaning once again a veiled attempt at “protecting” women (TERFs) victimizes them.
That may be true but it doesn’t impact whether or not such a “look” exists. The intent of the person pointing something out is not relevant to the existence of the thing being described.
And my point is that it doesn’t exist. Many people that “transvestigators” think “look trans” are actually cis women. Or in the case of this post, a cis man. Saying someone “looks trans” is transphobic and not based on anything of value.
You are welcome to your own interpretation of the world but I think most people would agree that there is a common set of characteristics associated with any kind of surgical or hormonal body modification. You are right when you say that some trans people exhibit those characteristics more than others but they definitely exist. You don’t have to ignore that reality to avoid being bigoted towards trans people.
How long until I don’t have to hear about or see them again? We’ve already gotten rid of (mostly) other toxic influencers.
They are sticking experimental grey market peptides into their veins, eating Adderall like tic tacs and are prone to take part in a whole list of other dangerous activities.
So, probably not too long.
I have no clue about the looksmaxxing scene, so forgive me for asking: Which one is supposed to be before and which one is after?
Edit: Goddamit, it’s a simple question and I honestly don’t see it. Just answer me instead of downvoting if you know better than me. The left one looks more masculine somehow and my first instinct was that this has to be the “after” photo, but usually these comparisons go from left to right. I’m not going to google the person because I have a feeling this isn’t worth my attention.
The left is before
Left is before.
Left 4 Dead 2
Leif is B4
🤣 😭
Edit: is he genuinely okay? Wait, no, I know he’s not.
I thought his deal was looking bony and masculine though. The left-hand image he has a wide skull, the right hand image he becomes a cute little anime character.
So he effectively is or has been suffering from
gender dysphoriabody dysmorphia this whole time?? Like even though he doesn’t want to become a woman, he’s uncomfortable with how his masculinity presents itself and can’t seem to make up his mind on how to look
The other thing i have to say is, based on what I know about clavicular (and his crew), I think the way they live is really unhealthy. It seems like he’s going through life developments at 10x accelerated speed - i thought he was completely settled with his appearance and had already undergone surgery to repair what he didn’t like (eye/facial deformity he was born with, i think).
I believe that by doing a lot of drugs and streaming almost 24/7, he has a twisted sense of reality and view of himself. I think this is why he’s like
''ah! I should do life changing surgery next week!"
“But Clavicular, you did cosmetic surgery just the last week!”
“Thog no caaar”
Also if his gimmick is all about streaming stuff to do with his looks and pickup artistry, then he actually needed to do this shit to keep his audience. Which is grim. He might not know how to transition back to normal life, and will keep on getting body modification ad infinitum.
pic related

yeah it seems more like body dysmorphia than gender dysphoria.
Bugger, I got my terms confused
Yup, the algorithms are promoting body dysmorphia to men as well as women now. I guess that’s equality?
Maybe he wants to look more nonbinary as in gender ambiguous?
There should be a male movie version of “The Substance”, specifically targetting the toxic idea of looksmaxxing.
