Maybe not the food but the distrubutuon thereof.

If you went to the grocery store and found bare shelves, what would you do?

There is a known and well understood ratio of sq acreage it takes to support one person. Even if you have a suburban garden, you’d eat it clean in a few weeks. If you covered every inch of a suburban lot with crops, you might be able to get through a growing season. Then winter if you live where it gets cold.

Also, if you live in an area where growing isn’t possible, you starve. If you live in a city, you can have fun with that. If you love in the country where you may actually have enough land to sustain yourself, expect hungry and desperate visitors.

Society exists because a lot of people do a lot of work to keep it up. I’d prefer that not stop anytime soon.
