Idk what it is, but I think I get plenty of fiber in my diet but I still regularly have problems with this. My doc told me drinking water with the fiber is important, but I’m pretty sure I’m already drinking lots of water too. So… idk, if it gets bad enough maybe I’ll go look into it some more.

Could be your gut microbiome. Try eating more fermented foods and probiotics. Yogurt, kombucha, things like that.

Also, be aware of the difference between soluble and insoluble fiber. Pay attention to which one you’re getting the most of and see if getting more of the other one helps.

Does it? I’ve heard that it can be useful for chasing WD away, but wasn’t aware that it got you high. Something about delta kappa mu receptors? But I use kratom, which used to actually make me go, but finally does seem to be having traditional effects. I have a gut many expensive doctors have all failed to diagnose though so, shrug.

If I think it’s going to be a journey and I’m not in a situation where I don’t care what my shirt looks like (like doing chores on the weekend) but a nice shirt I don’t want to wrinkle more than I need to… shirt’s coming off.

Sometimes just need to feel free

How paranoid do you have to be to lock the bathroom door when you’re poopin’? That only makes sense if you’ve got little kids that don’t yet fully grasp the concept of privacy.

Even closing the door is unnecessary with close family. Besides, the cats like to hang out while I’m doing business.

Yuck, who wants to have poop smell in the rest of the house/apartment?

Locking the door is the quick and easy way to signal that the room is occupied, knocking and/or asking and waiting for an answer would invariably take longer and create uncomfortable situations whenever someone doesn’t remember or doesn’t have the patience to wait for the answer or is just visiting and assuming that everyone locks the door when they use the bathroom.

Does your bathroom not have a fan?

A person visibly sitting on a toilet is an even clearer signal, though.

Anyway, the smell signals the cats that it’s time to hang out in the bathroom.

It does in fact not have a fan, and frankly I doubt that a would keep the smell completely out of the hallway if you leave the door open.

            The cat can get fucked.

              Don’t fuck cats. That’s nasty.

Not even a window in the bathroom? That’s also nasty. In my country, bathrooms are required to be ventilated.

Also, most shits shouldn’t reek so much the odor fills multiple rooms. That’s a separate issue.

Depending on the direction of wind, an open window might blow the poop smell into the rest of the house/apartment even harder. Just close the damn door FFS.

I live in a 60 year old apartment building, there is very much not an exhaust fan. The smell radiates throughout the apartment if you don’t close the door.

There is no windows and no fans in the bathroom in any of the units here, and every apartment I’ve lived in over the years didn’t have them either. It doesn’t appear to be a code violation here, though the codes may differ between houses and apartment buildings.
