So, robotic limbs kind of exist to a degree in the prototype stage, but like, a robot arm by itself isnt going to let you casually lift 100lbs regardless of how advanced the arm itself is, unless you also have a spine, legs and attachment for that arm capable of handling that lifting too, or some kind of wearable exoskeleton to take the weight off those areas

That looks like the kind of animal that looks horrifying at first but, I feel like if I actually was put into a position of taking care of, I’d probably grow rather fond of. Like theirs a certain way that one starts to see the cute side to “ugly” pets when one’s been around them long enough.

I dont have this newest gen6 plus, just the slightly less new gen6 with e/os, but I wouldn’t imagine the difference is huge. Has generally worked about as well as any regular android phone Ive had, with a few minor annoyances like the “paste” button for text often being invisible, such that I just have to press where it should be to make it work.

I mean, aren’t most of these “scientists find microbe that eats plastic” stories just them finding something in the wild that already has such an adaptation, rather than engineering something new? The idea that a plastic eating organism makes plastic nonviable to use anymore is a bit like saying that we can’t make stuff out of wood, paper, natural fibers like cotton or wool, etc, because those things will degrade given the right circumstances and time.

honestly I think no mans sky would be one of the worst examples for what Im thinking of. it goes back to the bit about how a purely generated story would be pretty flat and that I suspect that to make npc’s distinct, there would need to be a good bit of existing character lore and unique dialogue for the AI to work with; most no mans sky NPCs are so similar to eachother that even with not-repeating dialogue, they’d still sound stale. I think you’d want something like skyrim, where the world is big and open but not so big and open that each character cant have a writer give them a little bit of backstory to build off of.

Ive generally been of the view that instead of wishing for three specific things, one should instead wish for some kind of power that would then enable you to then grant yourself the things that you want (the most obvious thing might be wishing for omnipotence but this probably breaks, well, all of the rules since being able to do anything definitionally is incompatible with limits, but I suspect the limits of what is possible in this direction without breaking the laws of physics are still far beyond what humans are capable of), so as not to need the genie later when the wishes run out.

However, if you know the genie will twist your words, Im not sure that its safe to wish at all, its unlikely that you can come up with something that cant be twisted into something you dont want, language is just too ambiguous for that and the implication is that you’re dealing with something that is both incredibly more capable than you and actively malicious, doing your best to avoid its attention is probably the safest bet.

That being said, if you must wish, I figure the way Id try to do it, if boring, is to say the outcome you want, without an “I wish” but with some clear marker on when your description starts and stops, like some gesture or nonsense word, and then something like “I wish that the statement that I previously made in between the two [whatever your marker was] is now true in the way that I, the person making this wish, presently desire and in no alternate way.” It probably wont work because again, language is nearly infinitely ambiguous and the genie is much more powerful than you, but at least youre trying to avoid unintended interpretations.

Alternately, back when I still used reddit, I did once try the “monkey’s paw” subreddit with “I wish to be satisfied with whatever the result of this wish is.” and dont remember any of the answers I got actually twisting it much. Maybe something like that at least robs the genie of some of their fun.
