If you won the lottery and wisely invested the money, you could live off of it, quit your job, and also not have to go to team meetings.

Problem with that is you wouldn’t be able to win the lottery unless you’re buying tickets, and in that case you would probably not be a natural at that wisely investing money thing.

Maybe. I’m good at odds and investing. I don’t follow the lottery odds, but there are times when it actually is worth it to buy tickets. Rare, but occasional.

Like when the pot is super small? I buy a ticket maybe once every few years to dream and chat with my friend about what we’d do, etc etc

i’d literally have to run the numbers. pot versus ticket price versus specific odds of ticket that day. you become more lotto obsessed than the people who just do scratchers. it’s the same kind of actuarial bullshit the people running the numbers do.

At my job I basically never have meetings since I’m a resource to do work and not technically a “team member” on any projects. Recently, some of my younger coworkers were talking about doing 8am stand-ups with the whole department to allow people to chip in about eachother’s work, and I almost lost it.
