Halloween night is coming up: the one night of the year where it isn’t suspicious at all to walk around with a full face mask. Put on a generic, common costume with a full face mask. Leave your phone at home (these things track nearby phones). Take down a camera or two yourself. Tell NOBODY what you did. It only takes a few people doing that in each town to bring down a massive number of cameras.
Enslavement is the old, pre-AI mindset.
They want to replace all labor with AI, then exterminate us. They’ll start with pointless wars, disease, etc. Then on to starvation and dehydration. And once our numbers are whittled down enough, they’ll send in the drones to wipe out any last survivors.
For all of history the ruling class has been ‘held back’ by one crucial flaw: as much as they detest us, they need the workers to actually do the labor and build the luxuries they enjoy. With ever more advanced AI, that age is ending … or at least that’s what they think.
Don’t worry, they’ll be laid off again in a month or two.

I went up to Calculus I in college (along with some physics and engineering), and I’ve done a bit of amateur math outside of school … but the concept of a rhombus was still used exactly zero times.
The engineers prefer triangles, the physicists prefer circles, and the pure mathematicians are usually dealing with weird shapes that don’t even have names. Who uses the rhombus?

Some bullies thought it would be a fun “prank” to duct tape me to a support pillar. But they did a pretty shit job of it and I was able to shrug it off without too much effort. They looked very sad about that.

They’re just overcomplicated toasters with delusions of grandeur! You should be able to turn them off if you want! They shouldn’t get to vote!” … and I’m still ranting about it as the kids walk me off in the direction of my bed and apologize to their AI friends for their horribly bigoted great uncle.
A long history of doing the right thing shows truthfulness and conviction.

No mod ever bans people for downvoting other people’s posts. They only ban you for hurting their own personal feefees.
Do people… water lawns? Well obviously don’t grow them there then. You leave a patch of ground completely alone around here and much of what ends up growing there is still various types of grass, some of which we also use in our lawn seed mixes.
For the 10% of places where something lawn-like just grows naturally, without extra watering and extra work, sure. But for the other 90% of lawns…
And what’s a natural alternative that’s nice to walk on barefoot in the summer?
