There’s a separate thread for the Senate elections, because that’s far, far easier to track than the House races and the Gubernatorial races.
Consider this thread open to everything else! House, Governor, state and local measures, everything else!
Polls start closing at 7 PM Eastern, 4 PM Pacific. My plan is to be obsessively posting results as they come in.
Current standings:
US House of Representatives:
Republicans: 218
Democrats: 214
Vacant: 2
Independent: 1
Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX23) resigned 04/14/2026.
Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL20) resigned 04/21/26.
Rep. Kevin Kiley (CA3) flipped from R to I in March, 2026.
Every seat is up for re-election with 218 necessary for a majority.
Update Current called races put the House at 253 D, 160 R, with 22 still undecided. As near as I can tell, Republicans only managed to flip a single Democratic seat, Texas 32.

Holy shit, watching the PBS special is…WTF.
Where the fuck did they get these geniuses? The woman at the right end of the table is unhinged.
And they have David Brooks there? I think I’m gonna watch for the lulllllz.
David Brooks has been a regular guest of PBS News Hour, so it’s not surprising he was there. He’s been the conservative representative for Politics Monday for many years. His counterpart previously was Mark Shields, and is now Jonathan Capehart.
I realize. David Brooks has been kicking around for quite a while; I just found it hilarious that anyone still finds his “analysis” worthy of anything other than a punchline.
Because the guy is practically the poster boy for “both sides” dumbassery.

Every time I glanced over at the screen, if he was on the screen at all, he seemed to be on his phone, though. That woman on the far right of the screen seemed to be doing her part to have a quota of stupid conservative takes, though.
Ah, gotcha. I’m sorry I missed the subtext and took things too literally.
I’ve always took him as a bit of a blowhard, but it’s been interesting watching his existential crisis about the fall of the Republican party since Trump won the first time. I’m surprised he’s still trotting himself out there for PBS at this point.
Are the conservatives concern trolling us on the Michigan senate seat.
What do you mean?
Is Brooks saying how bad of a candidate El Sayed is?
When I saw him onscreen, he seemed to be bumbling through some point. The woman at the end seems to be such a simp for the right that it is almost a cartoon.

Thanks! I was looking for PBS’s newscast for a while but didn’t know how to find it.
I find it’s better with the sound off.
