Kanopy is a FREE streaming app accessible with a/your FREE library card. (I highly recommend for documentararies and for “The Great Courses” cuz you can learn just about anything from electrical skills to philosophy). AND one can get a FREE library card for and on NY State’s library online (& get Kanopy access with). AND Imagination Library (a Dolly Pardon organization) will mail children books directly to the homes of kids for FREE. (Multiple countries participate, and they have bilingual books as well.)

Along with CBS, CNN should no longer be a preferred source.

It’s easy to pick ABC, NBC, MS NOW, Reuters, the Associated Press, or a local outlet instead.

I knew CNN couldn’t be trusted, too much of a liberal bias. That’s why I only go with trusted news sources like Fox. /s

I’ll also throw out PBS News and NPR News as being at least as good as MS NOW. Also shoutout to independents like 404 Media and Bellingcat. I am sure there are others I missed as well.

With the BBC, bear in mind that the party in power always has their thumb on the scale. They’re not Pravda, but they’re not wholly unbiased, to say the least.

While international outlets are also worthwhile, they are ultimately less likely to cover U.S. stories with less international significance.

I dumped cable a long time ago. I only use broadcast TV for watching my NFL team and checking the local news.

Dumping CBS (and now CNN) also means not linking to their articles, something that some users don’t seem to view as being problematic.

Unless a line is drawn in the sand as to which news sources are objective and which are not, partisan influences—such as the leadership of Skydance—will inevitably introduce bias. Media companies seeking to maximize their profits means that this bias typically favors right-wing interests.

Well, CCN and CBS are both pro zionist, so they aren’t exactly without bias. And of course with Bari Weiss in charge of CBS, they are definitely pro Trump now.

I pay for Pro Publica and the Times and watch independent media on Youtube for daily political analysis.

Got a spare computer? Check out “swizzin community edition”. If you can install Linux (you can), then you can set up a fully automated, luxury, gay, space communist media server. Paired with a VPN, you can easily request movies and subscribe to TV shows that will just show up on your server. Jellyfin (for watching media) clients are available on Linux, Mac, Windows, Android and iOS. You can even install it on a lot of TVs. Live sports is not possible with this setup, bit that’s about it.

For now…make sure you backup. Might have to start sharing flash drives if they keep up their war on freedom.
