  • The advice works, but only if you have the strength to do it and not everyone does.

Realize that some of these aren’t just decisions you have to get right every day (like walking every day), they’re decisions you have to get right 86400 times a day. If you crave junk food, you don’t just decide “I’ll stop eating it”, you have to make that decision every second of every day, because if you slip once, you’re fucked. It gets easier, sure, but the first days/weeks are brutal.

  • Nothing special either way about her appearance before, but Megan Fox was legitimately one of the most beautiful women alive. Though I don’t think she did it for Trump’s approval at least (she started pretty early with the first boob job), I suspect it was her own insecurity and I’m not going to be judgemental of that, we’ve all got our issues.

I mean nothing against walking in general, but when it’s super cold or super hot, it’s much nicer to spend that time in a climate-controlled interior than outside. Especially before I got a heat pump installed so I could actually get some breathable air at home in the summer, the car was the only AC I had access to.

The 16 minutes also gets me about 20 kilometers away versus about a kilometer for the walk. I MIGHT get to the closest store in that time.

  • The rich in this case == old people. People over 55 own 73% of the US. Billionaires don’t come close to the wealth of boomers. In countries with national pensions they just do it via taxation, in the US it’s via retirement funds invested in the companies abusing workers.

People don’t seem to get that everything has a cost in human labor to it and if you want people to continue enjoying the benefits of what is actually a pretty good economy all things considered, there need to be enough workers. If there are not enough workers, you can’t have retirement anymore. In fact, a few decades from now we’ll have to get rid of retirement as a concept unless we want actual slavery.
