Four. In one of them, literally only up to 10. The other 3, much higher.

electric_nan@lemmy.mlto Political Memes@lemmy.ca•The Republicans Should've Faced Way More Criticism During The 2024 Presidential Campaign0·15 days agoYes it was the “slight corruption” that “tankies” are criticizing Dems for. Give me a break.
electric_nan@lemmy.mlto politics @lemmy.world•You can stop asking where the mass opposition is. It's everywhere.2·15 days agoI was in DC on Saturday too, and I also have been going since W Bush’s first inauguration, and several anti war protests after that. I always enjoy seeing people out on the street, but I also feel like these protests don’t really accomplish anything as such. They are just really easy to ignore, unfortunately. Participants feel good about themselves, and hopefully build relationships with new people. But did that crowd on Saturday threaten anyone? Did any elected officials (R or D) feel nervous about it? Were there any demands made that will be met? Again, I do appreciate so many people taking the time to protest, but I hope that plenty of them have a line at which they will take stronger action, and that it doesn’t come too late.

Yes, oppositional propaganda is a known phenomenon. It isn’t new. If you are campaigning for election, your job is to overcome it somehow and win. Harris wasn’t lacking funds and she had the (arguable) advantage of running from an incumbent administration, as well as the advantage of running against a clown like Trump.
There were loud and numerous warnings to and criticisms of her campaign from the left. She ignored that. I can’t prove that’s definitely what cost her the election, but there is no question that she could have run a very different campaign. Blaming her loss on propaganda is weak and defeatist. Find ways to win, not excuses to lose.

As in, there were no possible candidate or campaign that could have beaten him?

The truth is that there is not much that you need to learn for daily use. Unless I’m working on an actual project (like configuring servers/networking) I don’t spend much time in a CLI. Start with a beginner friendly distro (Linux Mint Debian Edition is my pick). You shouldn’t need terminal at all for basic usage. Next, find some tutorials on basic Linux terminal usage and practice. The goal isn’t to “learn every command” but to just familiarize yourself with how it works. Learn how to navigate your files and folders (ls, cp, mv, touch, etc). Learn how to edit text files (use nano). After that, anything you need to learn will be because you want to do something beyond basic use.
This user is spamming this garbage everywhere. Look at their post history.
I remapped the power button of my computer to whatever that series of keypresses is that exits vim.
I think it is truthful, and it’s important to be honest about it-- not least if you genuinely want a way out of Trumpism. Pretending that the Democrats aren’t a big part of the story of how we got here is dangerous. We need to come to terms with our fundamental issues before we’re able to start moving in the right direction.
Nothing says you have to believe the same thing everyday, or even moment to moment. Think of your spirituality as kind of story, or a painting, or a song that you sing to yourself. Wouldn’t it be boring to sing the same song every day? There isn’t just one “greatest” song/poem/story/painting because you can’t fit all human experience or emotion into just one of them. I like to treat spirituality this way. Play with your relationship to life’s mysteries. Make an art of it to entertain and comfort yourself.
To be clear, I have some core values that I don’t change, and these inform my politics and how I interact with other people. When it comes to things like death, “the meaning of life”, the origins of the universe etc, I’m most comfortable with fluidity.
