    The phone turned 90 degrees off from what I think it should be bothers me. It would be on the table facing away from the wall, normally, I would think.

    The rest of the setup for the gag makes sense, but that detail serves no purpose in the gag.

      what i imagine, and isn’t shown in any of the panels, is that the little table with the phone on it is actually next to and ‘faces’ a comfy upholstered chair sitting in the corner of the bedroom.

      Maybe there’s a desk just out of frame, and when she’s sitting at the desk, it’s facing her.

      From a pure practicality-for-the-comic standpoint, having it oriented the way it does lets us clearly see the cord from the handset leading to the phone - not that that’s super important, but it maybe helps with clarity?
