To be fair to the rando, this feels like the kinda “kooky observation” that a fan would make that overanalises the source material, and authors usually don’t make posts pointing out extreme minutia to explain their works, they usually leave it there for a reader to discover it themselves, and confirm or deny it.

To be unfair to the responder, how the fuck would you end up following the author of a manga that you actually care about and not actually know that you are responding to the author of that manga?

Even then, it seems kind of bad that the response to a fan “kooky observation” is to shut it down with a passive aggressive dismissal.

This is the exact same kinda stuff that people criticise JKR for adding lore to books that are already written on twitter, let people read the books for themselves, or write more books if you want

JKR is a perfect example that some authors are fucking shitty people and its ok to separate their work from them. Phillip K Dick is another good example. I fucking love his art but as a person he was a horrible person to the women in his life, especially Anne. Then almost killing his girlfriend. Dude had personal demons for sure.

And Hemingway… we could go one for hours here but The Old Man and the Sea is a fucking masterpiece and has made this grown man cry multiple times. IDGAF Hemingway was great and his favorite cocktails are great for when you really wanna get fucked up quick

Kipling wrote some awesome stuff, but man, was he ever a product of his own racist and mysogenist times. He literally invented the term “White man’s burden”.

Are they though? Anyone can say they are the author on the internet. You can also just generate tweets online. Is this exchange even real? We can only access tiny fraction of reality with our sense. Is what we perceive actually there? Statistically it’s more probable that we live in a simulation than in a real world. Is this universe even real?
