This philosophy of bipartisan cooperation pursuing shared goals assumed from the start that the goals are shared and that not just rooting for a president to fail but actively trying to make it happen can in many cases be doing the right thing for the country and your constituents. This isn’t just a matter of tone deaf messaging, it’s just outright wrong.
