CA gets some oil from Alaska. My point is that other states can move oil around pretty easily, but not CA.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there a chance America one day will elect a Progressive? Or will we keep going the elder dipshit route?
41·19 hours agoYes. If you look at the last couple of elections and when they were born you’ll notice an outlier that got that vote because they promised something different.
It’s doable, but it seems like the current voters like people born at the tail end of WW2.

58·20 hours agoBunkers don’t need ballrooms.
I also don’t sweat gas prices but it affects a lot of people disproportionately. A lot of low income earners have to drive a lot, either because of the job or because they can’t live closer to where they work. It’s not like they charge a fuel surcharge for lawn care for example.
Not all but a lot. It also is blended differently to pollute less, so it costs more. Importing oil from other states to be refined is also more difficult.

11·23 hours agoThis feels like a bug then. Win10 was EoL/EoS last year. If you’re not going to Win11 then best to switch to a supported OS.

After a week the “German” food was repetitive. The “non-local” food was pretty unique as it was still tempered to German tastes and available food stock.
I definitely was looking for menus that had German items that were new to me but it wasn’t that easy by the end of the 2nd week.
The German food in the US doesn’t get close to the German restaurant experience though. The old buildings, the efficiency in getting you in, the abrupt “time to leave” even if you’re not done. Buying a keg of beer for the table.
No. Most restaurants have a selection of flavors. Germany was sausages on kraut, in water, or pounded out chicken/pork.
I went to Germany not long ago and was surprised by how every restaurant had the same exact menu. Had to find the foreign restaurants to get other flavors.

11·4 days agoA grocery store near me just renovated, including a large structure in the parking lot with high powered lighting.
Not a single EV charger was installed.
It sees like a complete lack of forethought to not include even a low powered L2 charger at a grocery store. People would definitely use it and spend their time inside the store.

If not for that comma this would be a lot easier to understand.
