As someone who has never been on a date but has watched a lot of romcom anime: a recurring theme that I see in them is about how you can’t be in love with someone if you don’t also love yourself. If you don’t believe you are worthy to be with another person, how can you ever accept their feelings even if they do come out and say it?

I’m not really going anywhere with this. It’s just something I’ve noticed.

My girl was like that, but consistency goes a long way!

She still sometimes thinks of herself as ugly and undeserving (she’s a fuckin’ goddess, wtf), but she accepted that she is genuinely and passionately loved.

    Still weirds her out, though.

Women have some serious shit doled out at them about standards of beauty. I remember one girlfriend I had was very conscious about her skin not being perfect. She was a beautiful woman, great personality, a lot of fun - but was nervous because her skin wasn’t perfect. (We split because I had to move away to start my career, and she wanted kids, while I didn’t - so there wasn’t much point in continuing a long distance relationship.)

God, I dated a girl like this. We were like best friends, started dating and would argue with me any time I gave her a compliment or told her how I felt about her. Sad. I really did love her. She just didn’t feel like she deserved to be loved.

This is literally the problem I’m having with a girl right now.

      She’s a therapist.

      So am I.

Don’t trust therapists to have all their stuff together 😏

The therapy world is a small subculture, 80% of my friends are therapists at this point.

We met when working together, delivering a training course.

How often do you catch her using techniques and tell her not to cite the deep magic to you? Or vice versa? Are you the witch in this relationship?

Therapist magic is divination based, let’s you see more.

Its not enhancement based so doesn’t work to control each other.

Does lead to some interesting, deep and honest conversations!

            So how are you arguing?

"My ego is really upset because of what you did but it might be also a bit overreacting because its similar to how my mother treated me as a child. Anyways, this is how I feel right know. I just wanted to tell you so you can understand why I am acting like this right now. Does this make sense to you?

              😁

You could write a comedy script about therapists with caricatures like that.

              I’d watch it

Do you not trust other therapists because they likely externalize their problems by dealing with other peoples problems?

That’s pretty much why we get into this in the first place, yeah.

We learn to stop doing that during the training thankfully!
