That, I think, demonstrates the duality of roasting. You have to go for the obvious, the low hanging fruit but do it in a way that brings something else than just: duh-huh black, duh-huh gay, duh-huh ugly etc

The only roaster I’ve watched purely for his roasts is Greg Giraldo - a now dead, ex lawyer, drug addict who only got into comedy because he thought he could do better than what he was going out to watch.
