Well guess what is the new wallpaper of my phone's lock screen :3
(Technically not this one; I chose the unedited version uploaded 12 minutes earlier)
Edit: nvm, the original version ended up being a bit too dark, so I replaced it with the newer one.
Tilcayo sounds ok, but i prefer the scientific name miaomiao pstpstpst
I believed it for a moment or two!
It is one of the great things about the Romanian language, which in all other respects is basically just Latin, that “cat” is not “cattus” or “felus”, but rather “pisica”. Because pspsps…

I love how it seems to have the vibe “goddamn it they found me”. Real cat behavior.
Lurks?! lurks??
Same energy as “shark-infested waters”, you mean where they live???
I’ve never once seen one post any oc, nor even any reposts!
I know I shouldn’t but I want one.

I know - it’s like looking at new games on a Steam Sale, when you already have a library of underplayed and unplayed games.
I’ve already got cats who would love to hang out with me a bit more, and the local animal shelters have many unhomed cats already in them.
But I want the special new cat.
As part of avoiding US companies, friendship with Steam is over. Now GOG is my best friend.
Try bribing one with a can of tuna.
We got lucky with Felis sylvestris; all other small wildcats have been far too paranoid and aggressive to be domesticable.
They domesticated themselves. Saw an opening and took it. We got lucky they chose us.
“These weird apes are just leaving mice around? And they’re letting me eat them?? Suckers!” and now it’s too late, I get to kiss their little heads!
There was this meme of some Russian dude who kept a caracal as a pet. I’ve also seen people have servals as pets. I think they’ll likely just be as unpredictable as house cats but the damage they can do is much bigger.
Like a mini leopard!
In their paper, the researchers propose the cat should be known as Leopardus tilcayo, in honor of the word local people know it by. "We asked the local people, ‘Why do you call it tilcayo?’” says Nogales-Ascarrunz, who is herself from Bolivia. “And they said, ‘I don’t know! My grandpa called it tilcayo, so I call it tilcayo.” (The name does not appear to mean anything particular in Spanish or the Quechua language spoken in Bolivia.)
a local wildlife sanctuary that had just been given what they described as “a weird cat.” It came from a local man who found it as a kitten on a road near a forest. The man took the animal home, believing it to be a domestic breed. But after about a year of living with the clearly wild animal, he realized it would be better off at a sanctuary.
If he could manage a full year then this will probably be fine as a house cat so long as you raise it from a kit.
New earth update just dropped!
can’t have one at home
Not with that attitude! Just watch me!
hm… looks like we need to start saving the rainforest now
we need to do it right meow
Impressive bitmapping on that feline.
Such a vicious look.
