I have liked all the DLCs. Probably royalty the least. Biotech and ideology tied for top and they go together really well. The most recent 2 are also pretty fun.

Yeah there may well be some fairly reasonable hardware configs that are powerful enough to run the game but end up unsupported because of the vulkan requirements.
But you can always stick to 1.6 if your hardware can’t run 1.7, so its not too bad.

I have them but I bought the game before it was even on steam. Then I got each DLC as it came out.
Game is great without them so don’t worry about not having them. Then if you like the game you can collect them over time if you want to.

If you can’t strike over a genocide then what can you strike over?
Did the whole world lose their shit? I was in primary school at the time which might be part of it but I didn’t really notice that much in the UK as far as day to day life goes.

How do dependencies work for immutable distros, do you just download them and stick them in a folder with the thing they are a dependency for to run it, for everything? At least if it doesn’t have a flatpak version already which IIRC basically does that for you?

By fuck all overall. Gas is going up more. Which always amuses me when the media cries about energy prices. I electrified years ago when the gas boiler died. Currently on like £85/month for energy and that hasn’t yet factored in some more recent efficiency changes I have made.

Last time I checked the majority of people travel under 5 miles for most car trips.

Well it depends on the mods, for both games lightly modded should be fine. Throwing in 100s might be a problem though.
Then again, 1.7 for Rimworld is apparently improving performance by quite a bit. So 2-4 times as many mods?

I would probably see if factorio can run on it. Rimworld too.

I had to describe a web browser to someone the other day at work. In the end they had to go to their IT department for help.
Though sometimes IT departments we deal with aren’t much better. Combination of ultra paranoid security policies and incompetence. Then a panicked end user who I need to try and work out how to help with the restrictions in place by their IT department. Some of our customer notes are amusing, stuff like “RDP still works onto X and you can connect to the SQL server from there, don’t tell them”.
Should a single cable really support so many standards and high data rates though? That puts a lot of limitations on what is often just a stupidly overengineered charging cable.

You get mashed potato in sachets?

I don’t really see what difference trump dying would make to me tbh. Got enough money, don’t really want to buy many things even though I can afford them.
I could afford a new gaming PC every year. But my RTX2070 is fine. I won’t spend money without a good reason to and I don’t really see many good reasons right now. I have pretty much anything I could reasonably.
Cutting my hours worked, that could be something to go for.

Spending might be down overall for the average person, but that doesn’t necessarily mean no spending either. Could be moving to spend somewhere else, on things perceived to be better value for money.
Last AAA game I bought was shadow of mordor and it was discounted to £2.50 at the time. If I had paid £60 for that I would want a refund. It wasn’t a bad game by any means but no where near enough playtime of value to be worth that price. Meanwhile Factorio or Rimworld release at much lower prices and keep their price for over a decade because people generally see them as being worth it even after all this time.

Clearly you don’t have good enough games. When I first got Factorio I became nocturnal.

If me putting another 1000 hours into factorio is millennials killing gaming, I guess I will go and kill gaming.
Nuclear MLRS robot spiders. Railway artillery cannons. Flamethrower turrets. Industrialised warfare. Why would I leave? I just started a marathon deathworld run.

Does CDDA still run on 64MB?

50 might be pushing it here, that is super old and low spec. Even an N150 laptop costs more. Can comfortably find 10th gen i5 desktops for under £200 though. Laptops seem to cost quite a bit more if I skim across CEX. I suspect being easier to store helps as they don’t want to move them so quickly while desktops are taking up more space and they want to shift it faster.
Downside with those desktops is that its often full of proprietary HP or dell bullshit. But then laptops are even worse so I guess that is your choice. Still, CEX have got a 5 year warranty on second hand things which is pretty good.
I install gimp on my work PC. Anubis isn’t weird enough.
