    In france tje day of the accident they called her “lady di” pronounced like “Lady die” for half a day before they caught up.

      I’m pretty sure the Brits always called her Lady Di (as in “dye”) as that’s how her first name is pronounced in English.

          I can’t think of any regional accent that does. It’s certainly a homophone in RP (received pronunciation - standard british english in as much as that exists)

      I’ve never had an out loud conversation regarding her, but I have always pronounced Diana ‘dye anne uh’ in my head, and thus shortened to ‘dye’. How do you pronounce it…

        ESL here, it has always been the same as “Lady Dee”. Thinking about it as “Lady Dye” is blowing my mind.

        Note, Diana is pronounced as Dee-Ya-Na in my mother tongue, perhaps that’s why it feels more natural

  6. Absolutely no NSFL content.
  7. Be nice. Don’t take anything personally. Take political debates to the appropriate communities. Take personal disagreements & arguments to private messages.
  8. No advertising, brand promotion, or guerrilla marketing.
