Last night I dreamed I was having some sort of oral surgery but the surgery ward was also an unrelated production floor. They gave me anesthesia(six different chemicals all given orally) and told me to sit down and wait. As I sat down a nurse told me to “I got your soup for after surgery since you’ll probably be hungry”. I then had to move to let production continue and some kid in a red shirt ran over came over took my soup and ran away, I chased him but before I caught him he poured the whole thing out onto the parking lot. I finally caught him and asked why he stole it he said “so you can’t have it”. I went back inside and looked for the nurse to get more soup. I couldn’t find her, I kept looking at the door, a bunch of people kept coming in but never the nurse. I woke up before I ever found the nurse to get more soup.
It was pretty weird, what’s your weirdest dream?
I want had a dream about a fork spinning in an infinite white void. That was the whole dream, nothing else happened, even in the dream I remember thinking that this was pretty boring.
Interesting… Its so boring it’s interesting
I had weird recurring nightmare as a kid. I can remember right now.
I was somehow stuck on a motorcycle in a bright white void. I had my hands on the steering wheel but my head was very close to ground moving really fast. Must have been going 200 km/h or so. Every now and then I’ve heard a static sound which got louder and louder with somebody on a bike on the horizon getting closer and closer. Not sure how exactly they looked like but they were scary back then. After I have passed them it was silent until the next one approaches. This process repeated endlessly. I think was more of a fever dream as I most often dreamt about this when I was feeling sick. I also wasn’t sleeping too deeply as I still heard the sound after waking up for quite a while.
This one doesn’t really have a story to it but it is quite rememberable cause I had this more often. I really have to start writing down dreams right after waking up. Or maybe even creating small video games out of them like Wario Ware just with weird dreams.
I’ve noticed outside sound affects my dreams, like something violent is playing my dream will be violent, if something technical I’ll have a work life dream. I wonder if this was something like you hearing your heater/ac turning on and off…
I was going to a house party in a nearby coastal village.
The house was a bit like the TARDIS. From the outside it was just a normal Scottish home, but on the inside had an infinite number of rooms. At this party was EVERYONE. Every human alive, every human that had ever lived, and even every fictional character.
My usual social anxiety was miraculously gone, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time socialising with all manners of folks. I ended up with the stoners from Dazed and Confused, getting high in a bedroom.
All of a sudden, from the corridor outside the bedroom came a scream. Me and the stoners run out to find a girl, who had opened a door to discover a squid-like monster in there. I open another door, and it’s basically the weapon loading screen from the Matrix, with every weapon ever made by humanity in there. For some reason, I pick an elephant gun, point it point-blank at the monster and pull the trigger.
And that very moment, there is a earth shattering roar from outside. We run out, to see a HUMONGOUS version of the monster I just killed coming out of the sea.
The mother of the baby I just murdered locks its massive eyes on me.
I wake up.
Damn, everything is fun till mother arrives
When I was a teenager I had this recurring dream that I was in a large city, and there was some kind of extraterrestrial emergency (like a meteor or something). I was racing across the city to find my parents to get them onboard some kind of escape vessel. I couldn’t find them because I had no idea where I was, as I had never been to this city. I end up going to the launchpad alone, wind up in line to get aboard, when a wave of fire washes over and destroys everything.
Did you escape without your parents or die also?
Nah, dream always ended with me standing in line, watching the rocket get obliterated.
Thank you for asking this question, because I love telling this story! Here’s a dream I had about Nicholas Cage many years ago:
I was peering out of the living room window with a cup of tea in hand, enjoying the sunshine in the early morning when I noticed something going on outside of my window on the ground near the flower pots.
I leant forward to take a closer look at what was happening, when I saw someone crouched down over one of my flower pots wearing a bathrobe. I watched closely to try to figure out what on earth was going on, and realised that it was none other than the esteemed actor Nicholas Cage himself.
I watched on in bewilderment as Mr Cage feverishly, exuberantly and very intensely sniffed at the flowers beneath my living room window. He pulled facial expressions of bliss and ecstasy that really only Nicholas Cage can pull as he inhaled sniff after sniff of my petunias.
In a euphoric stupor, he gave up his previous desire to remain hidden from the neighbourhood and allowed himself to fall to the ground, flower pot in hand, and continued to lavish in his flowery heaven.
Then, perhaps most bizarrely of all, he slowly and almost covertly turned his attention from the flowers to the inside of his bathrobe. He stuck his head under one side of the bathrobe and began sniffing the interior with an intensity only expressed by the likes of Castor Troy, as though this was secretly the plan that he didn’t want to admit to himself all along.
I woke up laughing my head off, accidentally waking my wife in the process.
I did ask for the weirdest dream… I think you win
When I was a kid I had a recurring dream about a Godzilla-type monster stomping through our neighborhood. From our backyard I saw it turn the corner and head down our street, so I hid on the patio, which had a wood-and-fiberglass roof. One time the monster stepped right in our backyard, which his foot took up about half of. I remember the sensation of being annoyed by this, as if it had happened over and over (which it had). So I darted out from cover and hit one of his claws, which was about the size of an office chair, with a stick I had. The stick had no effect on the claw, but apparently the monster felt it. I looked up and it was looking down right at me. So I ducked back under the patio roof. It raised its foot, and I saw a big shadow through the roof as it stomped down, shattering the fiberglass and timbers. At that point I woke up, presumably crushed to death under the monstrous foot.
That was the last time I ever had that dream. I guess getting killed put an end to it.
Wow, that sounds scary.
As an adult I had another recurring dream about Men-in-Black types following me around a college campus. Pairs of guys in suits with little earbuds, before earbuds were common. It was strangely not scary because I always felt on top of the situation, with extensive knowledge of all the buildings, so I knew which turns and stairways I could take to quickly put a lot of distance between them and me. Sometimes it involved going out windows or over balconies parkour-style and across rooftops. I just had to stay aware of where those guys were.
Also I’m jealous because my dentist doesn’t even offer soup.
Don’t worry the men in black can’t hurt you… Well except that one standing right behind you currently!
I don’t remember dreams much but I have had various flying ones through my life along with labyrinth ones.
Are your labyrinth ones indoor or outdoor? Like I had one where I was walking home but none of the streets made sense, like most just ended or looped back on themselves so to get to another street I had to sneak through random people’s homes since the streets didn’t connect. Why didn’t I just go through the yards? No idea
definately indoors. usually wierd interconnections of disparate places I have been sorta intertwined like a sci fi show with multiple dimensions being twisted about. may have had outdoor but I definately know I have had indoor ones.
I don’t know if this is necessarily the weirdest but it’s the first dream in a long time that I still remember fairly well like a month later. And I’ve wanted to type about it somewhere.
There’s not actually that much to explain but I was caught in a love / flirting triangle with a woman and a man. They were both all over me every chance they got. Nothing sexual but like holding onto me from behind and fussing over my hair and clothes etc. I very much liked the attention from both but the entire time I was around him, I spent worried that she would walk in and see because I liked her more. I mostly just didn’t want to hurt his feelings.
And that’s about it lol. It’s significant to me because I always thought that I was attracted solely to women. But in the last few years of open up and discovering myself I’ve found that I’m also attracted to androgyny regardless of who is wearing it. And I’m starting to think that I’m actually a little bi (or pan) but the thing is, I just don’t like men that much socially (although the guy from my dream was sweet, and I’m pretty someone that I actually follow on FB irl).
Maybe a bit later in the day when I’ve had more coffee I’ll come back with one of my actual weird dreams. I used to accidentally lucid dream and get recurring nightmares and sleep paralysis and the works. Until I became a pothead. Now I either don’t dream that much or just don’t remember it, no more vivid loony shit.
Impossible to tell. I usually forget them soon after waking up.
