  • I remember dance clubs taking photos of id’s back in the 90’s. first time I encountered it and I was like. WTF! thing is back then they did not have the equipment and infrastructure to hold it long term and were not part of a chain or had been bought up by holding companies. It was the same with security cameras that at most kept video for a few days and sometimes only one. Once we got to never delete data it became a nightmare.

  • regardless of if the feedback is from the ai or a blog example its up to the programmer to evaluate the relative value of what they are looking at. No one codes from nothing for things they have not done before and even then they are likely to start with code they wrote before and start editing. Also ai assitance for coding is not limited to coding. I found ai commenting to be useful as I am more likely to correct an ai’s comment as I go than comment as I code. Its very easy to be like. I will get the commenting in later but when you see something you don’t like, at least for me, then I don’t like to leave it there.

  • I have never been big on macronutrient things overall. I was raised on margarine and prefered the flavor but as an adult I have a bigger appreciation of butter but my wife and I for some reason love brummel and brown. Neither of us can explain why we are aware it does not have active cultures or anything that would give it a health advantage. Its literally the taste. Love avocado oil for its taste and high smoke point and coconut for taste. olive is fine and sorta neutral to me (which is funny because i have read avocado is the neutral one). I take fish oil pills because it has a noticable positive effect on my dry eye and now that I have been on them I really notice if I forget to take one. I like to add collagen to anything I can as its cheap and there is this whole thing from studies around cron with glycin to methionine ratios and im to lazy to keep real bone broth going. I do think its good to limit simpler carbs and fats. I view it as an arc that goes from sugars to simple carbs to fiber to protein to fats where fiber is the top and most healthy).

  • I try to do twice a week but I literally spend hours. I don’t try and keep the temp at anything in particular but I don’t know what it is about my bathroom but I don’t feel the temperature falls all that much. I do start out about as hot as I ca stand. Like I tip my to go oh. ah ha ah. and slowly get one foot in. then the other. then slowing lower down into it.

  • There are certainly benefits to llms. Just the more casual interaction is one. This to me very much mirrors graphics as compared to terminal. many many things done on computers do not require graphics and can be done at the terminal but usage by ordinary folks increased with the advent of graphics systems and guis. graphics require more power but are a more user friendly interface. Similarly llms take more power than search queries but have a more user friendly interface. In addition it has generative capability allowing folks without significant talent to do some things they could not before. There are benefits but right now its a matter of if the benefits outweigh the costs. Seriously if this was graphics vs terminal the graphics basically double power usage when doing nothing in particular that need it. You start throwing a bunch of monitors up and it will bring it up significantly and actually using graphics like gaming and video go way more and it keeps increasing as we increase standar resolutions and what is considered normal performance. We would use way less power globally if folks only used computers at terminals and went back to listening to the radio.
