The Hasan community is particularly malicious about this and engage in online harassment campaigns. So not only are people in the Hasan community are worried about losing friendships if they change their opinion on anything, they’re afraid of the community they’re a part of. That’s the nature of online communities. They coalesce around dumb ideas and then calcify. When you get people in the community to hate a group of people (whether it’s trans people or Jews, it’s all hate) then they take on fascist characteristics.
