[a character is looking sad in front of a dish full of nondescript brown food] EATING TOO MUCH FOOD BECAUSE YOU ARE FEELING SAD
[the character is still looking sad, its round belly sticks out of its clothes] FEELING SAD BECAUSE YOU ATE TOO MUCH FOOD
[zoom on the character’s upper-middle body, revealing that its stomach is smiling smugly at the reader]
Issac Asimov used to tell the story that when he came here as a child from Russia, one of the first things he saw was a billboard that said “Eat too much? Drink too much? Pepto Bismol!”
It blew his mind that he was entering a country where a) it was even possible to eat or drink too much, b) that it was a problem, and c) that it was a big enough problem there was something you could take for it.
What is this too much food
I just read about that narcissist smirk earlier today!
