While the UK kept forcing its homophobic laws on its colonies and did not decriminalized homosexuality until 1992/1994. Meanwhile many states of the US still have sodomy laws on its books. Tho French did go around randomly adding “it’s illegal to be gay now” on other countries’ constitutions by late 1800s.
