Right. No inflation except for the tariffs.

Oh, and the war that cut oil supply.

But besides tariffs and the war, there’d be no inflation.

Then there’s the high government spending and money printing.

But besides tariffs, war, government spending and money printing, I’m sure prices would decrease.

Except for greedy companies that have to make more money every quarter.

    Somehow I highly doubt that.

No matter the market situation, prices just go up. Remember when during COVID, all the super/hypermarkets have “sadly” reported that they need to up the prices due to the supply chain issues, then promptly forgot to take off that extra 30-60% increase when those supply chain issues evaporated, and reported record high profits?

It’s the same exact shit. Any savings there would be, these asshole megacorps will swallow just to appease shareholders.

Who do you think pays tariffs? Hint: not Mexico or Canada. Then add the fuel surcharge on all products.

Who the fuck talked about tariffs?

The claim was that WITHOUT tariffs consumer prices would’ve fallen. I’ve just explained why even without tariffs, prices would’ve gone up or at least stayed the same…

And if you actually read my comment I was addressing the fact that EVEN WITHOUT TARIFFS consumer prices wouldn’t have dropped.

But please keep on going on about the tariffs when we’re talking about what would’ve been without them.

Companies rarely ever reduce prices unless the product directly involves raw materials from global markets, like oil and gas. This is an excuse to blame Trump for greed. So long as profit it being made, you could be reducing prices.

Yeah but half the country would rather look away and pretend they were right than pay any attention to facts. We all pay a premium so they don’t have to grow up.
