The film, with the working title Pawn Shop, centers on an Antifa siege of a Minneapolis pawn shop amid anti-ICE unrest. On one side: an ICE agent joined by a group of pawn-shop employees and customers. On the other: a rabble of progressive protesters, and eventually a bloodthirsty MS-13 death squad, both intent on rescuing a Hispanic man detained by ICE. It plays out exactly how you’d expect it would.

The film’s first minutes will likely get the most attention. As Pawn Shop opens, two ICE agents in Minneapolis arrest the Latino man, later revealed to be an MS-13 boss. Dimwitted liberal activists film and scuffle with the agents as they try to take their suspect away.

Then the film’s Renée Good stand-in enters, slamming her Subaru into the ICE van. Described with the subtlety of a brick as “MELANIE (40), a fat blue-hair,” the woman, blasting NPR, revs up again and fatally hits ICE agent “Juan” with her car. Then his ICE partner, “Mike,” shoots her in a justifiable killing.

Rarely. They realised that people wanted escapism rather than indoctrination, so particularly as war losses mounted, cinemas were filled with domestic comedies. Triumph of the Will is a bit of an outlier as it is hard propaganda. It’s also an amazing bit of filmmaking, which helped its performance. I doubt MAGA could get anything of that calibre off the ground.

Bah, with the budget she had and the ability to she had to call in important people to reshoot bits of her “documentary” lots of directors from the time could have made something that looked as good

She was just creating revolutionary documentary techniques that are still heavily influential today, defining the visual language of the Third Reich, and making a film that would make her the most famous female director of the century. But sure, she could have asked one of the gentlemen to do it for her I guess.

          revolutionary documentary techniques

Because the format was like two decades old, you couldn’t solve basic problems without revolutionizing everything

defining the visual language of the Third Reich

Using her unlimited budget to recreate visual language that painters had developed over hundreds of years to create marketing material for an organization that existed for less time than the Star Wars franchise

the most famous female director of the century

Yeah there were a lot of morons with bad opinions in that time period

sure, she could have asked one of the gentlemen to do it for her I guess.

Actually I don’t think that was her call, but either way my point is that a filmmaker of any of the genders who had the kind of budget and set control that she had at that point in time in filmmaking couldn’t help but innovate just because so few movies have been made before
