I would wholeheartedly recommend reading How To Win Friends And Influence People (or at least this summary). Especially if you’re trying to convince people to vote in the midterms.
To add, in 2024 the 3rd party candidate with the most votes was magician Jill Stein, who magically appears right before elections, then magically disappears again afterward. And she got a whopping half of a single percent of the total votes cast.
So yeah, ain’t no 3rd party going to win a federal election anytime in the near or remote future. And ain’t no 3rd party even really trying. So why fucking vote for them?

I was thinking about this a lot recently when wasting my time arguing some tankies. Imagine a 3rd party candidate somehow magically won the presidency. Now they face a house and senate stacked with Rs and Ds. The president would be completely paralyzed their whole term, not achieving any of their lofty goals. So the 3rd party would have to get house and senate too. I never even see anyone campaining for these positions as a third party, and so there’s just absolutely no credibility in any alternative candidates. Why the fuck even talk about any 3rd party candidates? Just hold your nose and vote the fucking D even if you don’t like the candidate.
