This is a real and legitimate threat. Dismissing it outright does just as much harm as you perceive the “both sides” argument you’re railing against. The only time it’s a legitimate problem is when it’s used to dissuade voters from voting. It still needs to be discussed so hopefully it can be fixed.
If you want nuance, I can give it to you. I’ve successfully formed a union that spans across 3 states, including Texas. It’s one of the largest tech unions in North America. We got it through political messaging. Generally I consider anyone that can successfully get people to join a union for political reasons a pretty informed and nuanced person. But what do I know.
