Maybe he doesn’t personally see “gay” as meaning “bad,” but he knows that the mainstream of society including most billionaire oligarchs see it that way, and so is doing it because he knows it would get under their skin.
Which, you know, I see gay people doing all the time. So it can’t really be that offensive…

You’re saying you know nothing about him and making up a fantasy scenario in which you would feel his image is alright instead of just… looking at his profile. Search for the word “gay” and see how he uses it.
It’s not a fantasy scenario, it’s just how I interpreted it when I saw it initially.
And I’m not going on xitter just to stalk some profile of a random dude whose post I happened to see a screenshot of on the fediverse just to verify the accuracy of my initial interpretation. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
