Summary

Trump is considering Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a replacement for embattled defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth, according to sources.

Hegseth faces allegations of sexual misconduct, financial mismanagement, intoxication, and a hostile work environment, which have led to doubts among Senate Republicans about his confirmation.

DeSantis, who previously ran against Trump for the Republican presidential nomination, has been urged by donors and advisers to reconcile with Trump for the benefit of the Republican Party.

He’s a battle-hardened war veteran. The war in question being his war against common sense, empathy and sanity.

Well… playing devil’s advocate here… I’d argue that DeSantis is markedly more qualified than Hegseth. DeSantis has at least performed the duties of an administrator and has an understanding of how to operate a bureaucracy.

How well he’s been able to do these things is completely up to debate. But when comparing the two to each other, DeSantis is the no brainer pick.

AND once Ronnie falls out of Donny’s good graces, he’ll be out of a job, and out of Tallahassee…

And DeSantis’s military experience is far more useful for an administrator role. Not that DeSantis’s role in Quantanimo Bay was good, but it was in a higher level role.

Remeber guantanamo bay torture camps? Guess who was in charge of writing the legal rational for that.

Yes, Florida would get rid of him, but you don’t want him in charge of the US arms forces.
