Necati Ayhan, 22, receives a four-figure payout after an Asda delivery driver questioned his fibromyalgia disability, saying, 'You don't look disabled to me'.
When will judgmental idiots learn that not all disabilities are visible?
everyone’s pain and suffering is real, the bucket it’s put in is more fake than most diagnostic labels.
afaik It’s more correct to say that people diagnosed with that have something going on that should be accommodated more but it’s not a very rigorously defined thing. If we had better healthcare systems we’d allocate treatment without requiring a pay code label that’s really a collection of ambiguous symptoms and misleads patients and caregivers.
The label covers a set of symptoms (Pain, tiredness, depression, stiffness, and lack of rest from sleep), united only by being idiopathic. (Without a known cause).
From a diagnostic standpoint fibromylagia is throwing your hands in the air and going “Something’s fucky, but we don’t know what it is”. Which doesn’t mean that the person doesn’t suffer, some people with this diagnosis are basically bedridden and in agony (Others have mild aches and pains, which still sucks)
Fibromyalgia is a serious condition, that employers must compensate more.
P.S.: I am a disabled person

I don’t what it is from a cursory glance looks pretty bad
