Windows 11 has given me no issues whatsoever. I’m not apologizing for having a great experience.
At this point, it’s not even a matter of practicality, it’s one of morality IMO. You shouldn’t be giving spyware control over your machine and making the world just that much more controlled by billionaires. Most people don’t even think about it, which makes it a gray area, but you? You’ve considered this issue at length, apparently. That’s a stupid and awful thing for someone who’s given thought to which OS they should use to do.
I use Linux because I’m lazy. I don’t have the time or energy to play whackamole with Windows settings.
I’m a firm believer in every man is entitled to his own personal hell. And if Windows 11 is your choice, then go with my blessing.

Ever since our office laptops “upgraded” they’ve made excellent space heaters during the winter. Open up Teams, a PowerPoint, and a YouTube video and you’ve got a nice toasty office!

Honestly, I just wait until they ask me how to do something with copilot. I can talk to them for 10 minutes about all the different AI I can use, even openai before explaining that I don’t have to reconfigure office, SharePoint, or M365 to use something else, then I use the L word, and that is why Windows 11 or 12 upgrades disrupt nothing for me. No I didn’t have to buy new devices, no my phone works fine with what I have, yes, I can edit that type of file. No, I am not a hacker. Macs are fine, I just haven’t needed Apple to get a small fast laptop.

People with trash taste generally don’t like being told their taste is trash. But if you like using garbage, by all means, feel free to keep having a subpar experience. And I’m not even a Linux evangelist, I just support windows systems for a living.
Win11 is a trash OS made to spy on you, make your data easier for criminals to steal, and serve you ads. If that’s your thing, keep using it and enjoy I guess. I’d rather stay on actually good versions of windows, but security patches are important.
