I feel like these microblog screen caps on a cute background are the 2026 equivalent of a framed quote cross stitch.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it me or does Lemmy have a propaganda problem?
3·12 days agoI believe it’s because the original software it’s built on is created by a group with those views. That’s what I’ve picked up on at least.
Major improvement over the last one! 👏

3·15 days agoYeah agreed. It’s pretty wild what the tech can do at the best of times, but it’s just way too half baked on many levels right now to rely on.

3211·16 days agoAI is a tool, just like other tools we use. And it’s clearly a useful one.
It may not have been that “clearly” even just a year ago, but it’s no longer in question today.
This is such a massive red flag comment. If anything it’s become increasingly clear in the last year how problematic the tech is…
He follows that up by saying people should make the tools help maintainers not harm them, but suggests no means to do so. This is so blasé and hand wavy, especially when he’s responding to people complaining about how it’s making their jobs harder. “Just use the tools better”. Gee, thanks Linus.
At some point businessy people just started saying"Happy whatever-day-it-is". Happy Friday was the only acceptable one. 😅

4·21 days agoIts all so misanthropic. Not once does he actually justify whether they needed to make more money to be profitable. It’s just flippantly assumed that they would have needed to double revenue to be worth keeping. That sounds like a made up number.
Felt dude, it sucks. Takes way longer to recover from than I’d like, too.
Someone Photoshop this onto the amnesia dark descent monster
I’m gonna give you the answer no motivated person wants to hear. You should listen to your body and take a rest. You’ll be able to get more done with time, but exhausting yourself to get there won’t help in the long run (ask me how I know 🫠)

Games@lemmy.world•Indie Dev Says Game Refunded 55,000 Times Via Steam LoopholeEnglish
1·24 days agoI think that would be solved by making early access games have the normal refund window regardless of length. That seems reasonable as well.

10·24 days agoI think the short games get shorter windows would be completely reasonable. I’m sure that would even show up as a tag in the store, too, so it would be additional info for the buyer as well.

Oh it’s not a criticism, sorry of it came out that way! I just think it’s interesting.
