Yeah it was a really weird tonal shift. I’m sure it had to do with GTA being big that year or something.

This is me pulling from my youth, but at the time it released I really disliked Jak 2 (sequel to Jak & Daxter). The first one was a wonderful open world action platformer, and while there was a bit of that in the sequel, a ton of it was this weird GTA-esque city map complete with a crime star system. I remember really hating those parts and they just went on and on.
Maps reviews are entirely unmoderated. I used to collect those reviews for a company I worked for and people would post ads for their own stuff, or profanity with no content of any kind. I would report it, and all of it stayed up.

I kind of hate that this needs explaining. Continued support is an awesome feature of modern gaming, but devs also should be allowed to move on to new things

The wicker man (old one), and Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era… 🤔

I don’t think the article said it was only a Microsoft problem.
You’re right though, AAA execs don’t understand the medium in the slightest.

I forget his name but the lead game designer for Path of Exile. I’m an indie game designer, and when I listen to interviews with that guy I feel like I’m listening to myself talk game design philosophy.
Weirdly, I don’t like PoE, so not sure how to reconcile that part. 😅

Their obsession with laying everyone off after every release is costing them talent

Was gonna say this one too

The liquidation shall continue until moral stakeholder wealth improves
Yep, I agree. There’s no wrong answer, and language differs by culture.
While it’s confusing in a vacuum, it’s also just the way we say it out loud in american English (April 20, 2026), so it’s not that weird when you think about it like that.
Oh it’s not a criticism, sorry of it came out that way! I just think it’s interesting.
I feel like these microblog screen caps on a cute background are the 2026 equivalent of a framed quote cross stitch.

This, though I would rephrase and say that this makes them very wrong.

Don’t touch grass, stay indoors 👍

I came back after trying it a bit in early access a year ago. Definitely feels way more fleshed out and I’m really enjoying it so far
I had no idea so much had happened around that parcel of land
