There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. And yet, you must consume some just to survive.
Best we can do is minimize consumption. Recycle, reuse, buy used, make it yourself, steal it if you can get away with it. And when all else fails, then buy from the shitty megacorps.
You know I keep telling people this and they get mad at me. I have vices for sure but I don’t consume anything that doesn’t have either a: the ability to keep me alive for another week or so, or b: is currently part of a web of things that keep me sane and feeling like I cal scrounge some joy out of this life. All of which comes from some dark, questionable feed hopper of capitalism.
