I think they might mean they believe these arguments are generally happening organically rather than purely as part of some Russian or maga division campaign.

Personally, I could see it going either way, as the left has historically had a lot of infighting because it’s not so much a coherent group but the collection of alternative ideas to the current form of capitalism. Some of these ideas aren’t compatible, like anarchism and communism. But I also know that the powers that be won’t hold any punches trying to protect that power, including making fake users who make posts specifically intended to increase division. I think both of those factor into arguments like whether one should always vote blue or if the Democrats are essentially the same thing as thr GOP with a friendly looking mask on, though I don’t know how present that is here.

But I do agree that a lot of people here need to read How to Win Friends and Influence People because I see a lot of people trying to argue their side in a way that does more to alienate it than convince anyone. I could probably use a reread myself. The advice it gives is so obvious in hindsight (because we are on both sides of that, wanting to influence but also someone others try to influence and we can tell how various techniques are received) but it can be hard to remember when you feel passionate about something.
