    One of my greatest frustrations as a software engineer is that the vast majority of colleagues I’ve worked with in my career are simply not seriously interested in unionizing - either they’re (tbh, justifiably) concerned about getting sacked by management on some manufactured issue (as long as they don’t say they fire you “for organizing a union”, it’s perfectly legal in the US), or they think they’re so special and outstanding that “the union would hold them back”.

    Sigh.

    Oram also said he believed there was a connection between the list of names who signed the 2023 petition about remote working and the eventual firings in 2025. But Cordrey questioned whether this was really the case when 141 of 154 people who signed it were not fired.
