Remember when reputable brand names cared about hurting their name and image by not doing certain things so they could be held to a higher standard leaving your expectations high that you will get a higher end product?

BMW just went from “cars for the rich” to “cars for the rich white trash”.

This will just be ‘poor’ people BMWs. The 200k M whatever will likely be free of this.

It’s just a last ditch effort to mine what little is left in the middle of the glorious k shaped economy.

To the extent I am forced to have a car, I am committed to avoiding anything later than 2014.

    Pre-Harambe cars only.

They can have my 9th gen Si when they pry the steering wheel from my cold, dead hands.

I’m almost at 200k miles. That’s a teenager in Honda years.

          splits in half from rust

Well, at least the engine’s running.

I do get the blessing of going through ball joints and bushings like candy tho, so, tit for tat. I did recently also have to do the AC unit. I do all the work myself that I can. The AC unit was more fun than hard, had to borrow a buddy’s vaccum pump tho. The suspension can be… trying at times.

I haven’t had a car that has tried this with me, but it will result in an instant selling of the vehicle or replacement of the infotainment system.

Good luck on the latter. Nowadays the can bus is wired straight to the infotainment system and there is no more simple square din for a drop in head unit.

Even back in the day there was stuff like this going on. I had a 1986 Pontiac 6000. I replaced the head unit with a cd player and the cruise control stopped working. The cruise control wires went through the head unit.

Are you paying for your cars in cash? It’s not like ime ever going to own a home. A car company pisses me off they got to repo the damn car.
