Honestly beyond the tacky 'Murica theming here, I still don’t understand how or why energy drinks became the new de facto drink.
Far as I can tell, they’re just sodas that taste bad? I’m not exactly championing soda as some positive thing here, but exactly what have we gained by replacing 70% of the soda section with “energy drinks”?
this is a mystery for me as well. I may be too old. I tried Redbull twice in my life (not good), never tried any of these other brands.
If I want “energy”, I drink a mate based soda, kombucha or a ginger shot (oh, and tea/coffee of course)

Energy drinks have caffeine, usually more “exotic” or special flavor varieties and come in larger cans. Vitamins and stuff to make them seem healthy.
