      Heads up: sometime after Lemmy v1.0 when legacy API support is dropped Sync will stop working. It already has several serious bugs that have been unfixed for like two years.

      I switched to Summit a long time ago and couldn’t be happier.

        Aww man. I’ve been using sync too.

        I used reddit sync originally and the creator saying “fuck you” to reddit, and that they were going to make one for lemmy, is his I even found out about it.

          So did I, but eventually I couldn’t live with the unfixed bugs anymore. And continuing to accept (quite expensive) paid subscriptions while not working on the app anymore left a bad taste in me too.

            Wait… It has a subscription model? I think I paid once, when it was reddit and the payment carried over.

            But I agree, if theyre accepting sub money and it’s abandoned… That’s real messed up

              I thought it was yearly or lifetime as options? I can’t remember exactly. The point still stands: payments were open despite the app being abandoned.

          It was a pretty slimmy move by the dev. A bunch of people paid for the app then the developer pretty quickly abandoned it. Cashed out on that good will they had from making a good Reddit app.
