    Please forgive my hard edged tone, it was too much and I own it. Let’s put politics aside. I know we’re talking about a hypothetical, but regardless, what you’re saying sounds like despair. Please don’t make a permanent decision based on the unknown right now, and reach out to someone if you need to talk.

    I get why it feels like “nothing would ever be normal again.” That fear makes sense. But you seem to be saying there are no options, and I don’t think that’s true. People do survive huge disruptions and later rebuild a life that’s meaningful again; sometimes they stay, sometimes they relocate.

    You don’t need to be alone with your thoughts on this, and if you feel that way please reach out to someone or call 988 if you just feel like you need to talk.

      I am not planning to do anything unless they actually invade. Even then I’ll just hope the first wave of bombings get me. I watched The Walking Dead for years and I’m not interested in being part of a post-apocalyptic dystopia. The things I value most are comfort, safety, and security, and the US stands to take those things away from me. And to think just a few years ago I wanted to move to Los Angeles.
