Thanks for the feedback. I actually checked the modlog and I did not see this post removed https://lemmy.world/modlog/3106?page=1&actionType=ModRemovePost so I’m not sure what happened. Is there a better community for “why was this post removed?”
Posting Guidelines
All posts should follow this basic structure:
- Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
- What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?
- Provide a screenshot of the relevant modlog entry (don’t de-obfuscate mod names).
- Provide a screenshot and explanation of the cause of the sanction (e.g. the post/comment that was removed, or got you banned).
- Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.
In your case:
- The mods of Lemmy World c/asklemmy
- Post removal
- Does not seem to exist (which suggests to me it wasn’t successfully posted in the first case, and/or there was some federation problem involved?)
- Do you happen to have a screenshot of your original post to provide?
- You are wondering why the post was removed and want some explanation, or guidance for an alternative community to post your questions in.
There are many asklemmy communities, so you can try your chances in those, ask your instance admin, or you could try here: !lemmy_support@lemmy.ml
If you’re just seeking an answer to that question, the best route is to message the mod and ask.
If you’re interested in starting drama and/or having a laugh about it, however, you could make a post on !yptbcirclejerk@lemmy.dbzer0.com
Which mod? The problem is when they have removed discussion questions as “support” I don’t think we would agree on the definition of “support question”
But in this case the post just disappeared? I don’t know what happened.
On lemmy, you can use an alternative frontend like tesseract to see which mod removed what, though idk anything about piefed. If there’s no modlog entry for the removal at all, then odds are the OP just deleted the post themselves
Idk if the piefed / Lemmy devs can read this but if op deletes their post, the comments should stay.
Piefed devs have been discussing this, and there’s apparently going to be a change to that! 🙂
Fantastic news!
!lemmy_support@lemmy.ml for support regarding lemmy the software, refer to your instance’s information for help regarding your instance, and !selfhosted@lemmy.world could be helpful if you’re trying to selfhost it and need help.
I’m referring to how mods at asklemmy remove popular open-ended discussion questions and reference the rule against “support” questions.
But after looking at the modlog, I’m not sure what happened here.
At least try your luck contacting any mod there and ask of they could at least tell a pointer for where to continue asking!
