Thanks for remembering us of the other hemisphere. Soon the sun will come and destroy us. 40 degree days suck.

I judge whether a summer was ‘proper’ or not based on the condition of Adelaide’s rail network - if the tracks didn’t buckle under the heat (this is not a metaphor, it happens) at least once - it wasn’t really summer that year :P

Yep. The worst part of winter isn’t all the clothing. It’s getting undressed every time you arrive at your destination.

Yes! Honestly, I love the cold. If it weren’t for the fact that my favorite pass times are swimming and gardening, I’d so happily move somewhere that’s cold all year round. I love bundling up, I love the extra pockets that jackets give me. I love scarfs and the crochet beanies my mom made me when she was still here, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s the only time I think I look decent when I dress like that.

But my GOD the heat stroke when you walk in a store in January. It’s awful

It’s been hitting -20c where I’m at currently. I love it, I’m so happy I moved here, idk what it is about the cold but it makes me happy and bundling up to go outside is fun

I love the cold, fuck me up with that shit. I’m getting hot? oh thank you I’ll take a layer off, just the way nature intended

the only problem is it’s probably going to kill my lemon tree tomorrow… I’m gonna put a bag over it but it’s going to dip to 18F (-8C) and uh let me just say it really didn’t like it when it was 25F for a day

I’m hoping if it does damage it it continues to fuck it up from the top down (the top foot or so of leaves are yellowed and withering, kinda like a nutrient problem but I assume it’s from the temp) and maybe some lower foliage will survive until spring

I know it’s possible because my boss said he drives past a house with two lemon trees on his way to work and they’ve survive multiple winters…

p.s. I know i could put lights on it and stuff but tbh I ain’t doin’ all that, I have a clone in my closet surviving the winter
