gut microbiome research is going through the roof https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6682904/

pretty much all the pesticides, preservatives, forever chemicals, etc we’ve been eating our whole life has been wrecking our gut microbiome and starting to kill us faster than the junk food itself

not only that, but the smoke, smog, toxic industrial exhaust, etc. you breathe in, which gets caught in your nasal membranes, ends up draining down the back of your throat into your stomach and yep, messing up the gut microbiome

it’s a fascinating rabbit hole that’s only recently begun to be cracked in any significant detail, but i’d advise against it if you’re prone to anxiety

edit: were you by chance born by c-section? if so, then you started life at a disadvantage due to not being coated in (thus, swallowing) lactobacillus from mom’s birth canal. yea…gross af, but…science!

Can I just crawl back in and start all over without knowing any of this?

Those 9 months were so cozy that I don’t even remember them…

Fuck. I’ve been having undiagnosed abdominal pain for two months now, which certainly doesn’t do anything to make me feel better. I think they’ve ruled out what they can from bloods, feeling it, and at least one set of stool samples, but I’m waiting to hear back about the second set.
