Ok I’ll create the first thread. As name is important here is a chance to chat about ideas.

I like “Your Left”

It both forces future MPs and party leaders workers etc to remember it is the members party. Rather then MPs ala PLP. While also ensuring a left of centre bias to the parties idealism.

Labour very much from recent history lost / threw away membership control. This will act as a long term reminder.

I like your reasoning and yet for some unknown reason I just dislike the name.

How about “Not The Bloody Nutters”?

“Who are you voting for?” “Not the bloody nutters!”

NBN for short so they could do a remix of this song during their party political broadcasts:

I like the humour. But it assumes a long future where the Overton window never returns to the post ww2 level.

Historically, pre Thatcher, the righ wing were unwilling to push privatisations of any national infer structure. Because voters would not tolerate it. Thatcher was very careful about choosing telecoms first. As it was the easiest to sell.

Pre Thatcher the right may have been heartless. They just are. But they were not nutters. They had logic in their arguments.

Even the 1970s conservatives found the like of Enoch Powell Nuts. Farrage is very much verging on his level of insanity.

I think it’s becoming important to define fasism Vs authoritarianism.

As the definition seems to have merged over the years.

Fasism is a form of authoritarianism. But also add a single strong leader to the mix. Defining the enemy as an elite, Calls to loyalty to that leader rather then the group… And untra nationalism. (Usually defined by race but not required). Over all the idea that a single strong individual is needed to fix the perceived faults is an important part of the historical philosophy. That leader is used to sell the extremist ideals to enforce the authoritarianism.

Far rage is Def verging on fasism. He is not yet claiming to be the only one who can lead. But his actions are very much hinting at it. But failing to build that support.

Trumps Maga is text book fasism. More so in the second term but from day one he was clearly headed that way.

Labour under Starmer is authoritarianism. The power is more for the party and cobtrol of the population. More to the point power for the funding of the party. Then to push an individual leaders ideals.

It is in some ways more dangerouse. Fasism rarly manages to pass the leadership. As the individual is so central to the power structure. Replacing them is harder. If the likes of Starmer died another rightwing nut bag could replace him and win the rightwing of labour.

Every time farage steped back his party started to lose some support.

Trump again there is no obvious replacement. Vance justdose not have the ability to be more then support actor.

Yeah I like it, I considered Chartists as also a fun nod to the history of equality movements in the UK, but might be a bit obscure.
