You don’t, no one really does. The idea that you have to is a lie. Be whatever gender you want, whenever gender you want. You’re not restricted, anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar and a gatekeeper.

I recently started reading the Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. le Guin and the main feature is a people who regularly change gender or have none at all. The MC is human and they call him a pervert because he never changes.
It is such a great book!
