A dog owner was arrested after leaving their dogs inside a vehicle for an extended period of time in Oshawa, which police said resulted in one of them having to be euthanized due to heat stroke.

      Should be gaol, and forbidden to own pets for 10 years. After they are out, mandatory unpaid work at animal shelter work (assuming they are repenting).
