That is not really how it works, at least in Christianity. If you read the bible cover-to-cover, you see that 90% of it is “you already know what is right or wrong, just act accordingly” until god just gives up after a couple of centuries and destroys isreal. Then Jesus comes along and again says “you already know what is right or wrong, please just act accordingly” but instead the people crucify him. Then of course the infamous Paul comes along and I believe that is the moment God abandoned us, because Paul keeps on blabbering how you should not give money to church, unless it is him, how woman are not supposed to talk etc. while he is in prison all the time.
In fairness to Paul, most of the bad stuff comes from the pastoral epistles, which are generally considered by critical scholars to have been written by someone else.
