From the States, I say Maccas instead of McDonald’s, and things like bellend and wanker occasionally. It’s fun picking up words and stuff from other cultures

Same! Never have to worry about updates anymore its great!

My college system is working on implementing it as our network monitoring utility, so far so good

Same here
Nah it supports any instance, just the onboarding isn’t super clean. There’s a button somewhere to tap that you already have a profile, then itll let you search or enter a custom domain.

Sure would love if it respected the fact that I already opted out and disabled it in the app settings, but yeah its nice that you can still block it. Give it a week and they’ll change that just like Snapchat did with their stupid fucking AI chatbot thats now forcibly pinned to the top of my chats list with no way to remove it unless you pay a monthly subscription.

Oh yeah I keep forgetting about that. One of these days I’ll jump to Forgejo

Surprised to not see Gitea here, thats what I’ve been using for awhile now for my little projects
Ahahaha you’re right wtf

They should also have a Tor domain too, imagine cuandi2nfh81i4juqknsk18the.onion or something lol
I have a Richard the Pickle carb cap for my dab rig it’s fucking uncanny and I love it

Dr Bronners soap has specifically reaffirmed their DEI policies since Trump’s reelection, and they have a 5-to-1 cap on the top-level exec’s salaries compared to their lowest paid retirement-vested employees. They seem to walk the walk from what I’ve seen and read.
Nah bc then when the link goes down the content goes with it
Rapid edit: oh you mean in addition to the screenshot nvm don’t mind me
I applied for an internal position in November. They still haven’t put together an interview committee. I fucking hate this
Thanks, I was too lazy to explain that haha
4K = 3840 x 2160 pixels = 8,294,400 pixels per frame
Assuming 8 bits of color depth (lowest common depth) = 66,355,200 bits per frame (66MB)
At 24fps (again, low end as mentioned by another commenter) = 1,592,524,800 bits per second (1.5GB)
95.5GB per minute of footage per camera, assuming literally no compression.
95.5GB × 40 = 3.8TB × 3 cameras = 11.4TB
Raw uncompressed video takes up a LOT of space.
(Yes I used 1000 instead of 1024 for convenience)

The term is juxtaposition but I don’t know if a Lemmy community exists for it yet

Thanks this is exactly the context I was missing
i use wyze, been solid for years esp for the price. local SD storage is a huge plus for me and the streaming quality is good and loads insanely fast. i have a handful of blink cameras around the property but never use them anymore bc the interface and UX is so shit
